LaPine & Bend Area 2008
7/3/08 - 7/6/08
We took the plunge and bought a Travel Trailer! It's a new Jayco Jayfeather LGT 311. Two slides and the whole nine yards. Our first trip was to La Pine, OR and we mainly visited the Newberry Volcanic Monument. (Lava Butte, Lave Tube Cave, Paulina Peak, Paulina Falls, Entrance to the South Ice Cave and drove up China Hat.) The cave was particularly fun. We need to find Lily and Kara some spelunking gear! Lily and I also visited the Working Wonders Children's Museum in Bend to give Katy a little less hectic morning.
Lava Butte: (Chipmunks here were a long way from wild.)
Lava Tube Cave: (It's almost a mile each way, both little ones went to sleep in their packs.)
Around the trailer. The back cabinet of the trailer makes a great changing station!
Paulina Peak and Paulina Falls:
Kara's first semi-solid food. (Prunes)
Bend Children's Museum:
Our driving adventure to the Ice Cave (Only the entrance) and China Hat. (Those roads are really only meant for ATVs.)
Heading back we stopped at Benham Falls and at the Santiam River State Park. The trailer is great to stop and relax as Katy feeds Kara.
